Canada: Unauthorized Botox and other health products seized from Arshia Hair Salon and Spa in Toronto may pose serious health risks (English Only)
Health Canada is advising Canadians that it has seized an unauthorized “Botox” product and other unauthorized health products from Arshia Hair Salon and Spa (6062A Yonge Street) in Toronto, ON, because they may pose serious health risks. These products may have been administered as injectable treatments for cosmetic purposes. The products affected are: 
- Botox botulinum toxin type A (a version that is not authorized in Canada) 
- Hylase 
- Mesoline Bodyfirm 
- Mesoline Slim 
- Mesoline Tight 

Unauthorized injectable health products for cosmetic purposes carry significant risk because of the potential for infection, scarring and poor outcomes.

In Hong Kong, Botox For Inj 100 Units (HK-41906), Botox For Injection 200 Units (HK-60427) and Hylase Dessau Powder For Solution For Injection 1500IU (HK-64727) are registered pharmaceutical products, and are precription-only medicines. According to the information provided, the Botox and Hylase products in the above Health Canada’s announcement are not the version registered in Hong Kong. Mesoline Bodyfirm, Mesoline Slim and Mesoline Tight are not registered pharmaceutical products in Hong Kong. 

Members of the public should not buy or consume products of doubtful composition or from unknown sources. They should consult healthcare professionals if they are in doubt or feeling unwell.
